DP Ruto Vows To Buy Off 75,000 Acre Ranch Linked To Kenyatta Family

The land question has begun taking over the daily political cycle after DP Ruto, for a second time, vowed to buy off the controversy-ridden Kedong Ranch and revert it back to the Masai community.

UDA presidential aspirant, during his campaign, DP Ruto vows in Narok to buy the land. More so, Ruto said his administration plans to take up the 75,000-acre Kedong Ranch and the Rose farm. Surprisingly, the local members have claimed both the ranch and the farm.

The Kenyattta Family partially owns the Kedong Company. The company is the overall owner of the land. 23 shareholders and the Kenyatta family control the Kedong company.

DP stated that the dispute between the community and the two companies. They claim the ownership of the land has been in existence for a long time now. Ruto promised that after ascending to power it will be his sore priority to solve the issue.

Ruto says the issue that is remaining is the Rose Farm and Kedong Ranch. That in very essence, we need to finish it the way we solved the Mau land issue. Therefore, the locals can own the land.

Aden Duale the MP for Garissa Town together with his counterpart Amason Kingi the governor for kilifi county echoed the DP’s sentiments at the rally.

Kingi questioned the Azimio brigade on how they will be able to solve the land issue. Apparently, Joho will head this docket that solves the issue.

“When you tell Azimio you have land problems, they only have one solution. They will tell you that they will take one of you and make them a Cabinet Secretary of Lands,” stated Kingi.

On the other hand, Duale stated that William Ruto will be the only solution to the land disputes in the country which have piled up since independence.

Back in 2020, the community rejected the 4,000 acres promised by the two companies. The community claims that some members had gone behind their back at the expense of the whole community.
